Ashq (sometimes written Ashk) is a commonly used Urdu word and it means a teardrop. In Hindi Ashq would translate to aansoo. While use an object (by grammar point of view), the plural for ashq is ashqon.
The word is also used as a pen name by some poets, e.g. Ibrahim Ashq.
