I can't wait to review the film at my blog - http://bollyhooha.blogspot.com - a light-hearted non-gossip view of Bollywood! Check it out! (I need followers)
To all the Translators: Yes indeed Te Amo is a way of saying I love you in Spanish and Italian however in Spanish the pronaouciation is different. It could be Italian. However you have all missed the point. GOA!!! It's a former portugese colony. "Te amo" is "love" in Portugese and "Me te amo" is "I love you". This is supported by the way it is pronounced in the song, it is in a portugese accent.
The song writers have made a clear link to the setting of the film. Common guys get with the programme.
Te amo in Portuguese means "I love you", the correct for is "amo-te" or "Eu te amo", but people usually say "Te amo". "amor" means love and the expression "Me te amo" doesn't exist. Portuguese is my 1st language therefore i can tell u this accent is very similar to portuguese, and not spanish. And in Italian I love you is "Io ti amo".
@Natalia Pardo: you're wrong! We say Te Amo in Portuguese (as well as Eu te amo). And in Spanish you can say Te quiero meaning I love you, but Te Amo also exists in Spanish! Btw, I'm a Brazilian too and I live in a Spanish community! And no, there is no "me" te amo... It either Eu te amo (In Portuguese)or Yo te amo (not very used, in Spanish). For Spanish "Te Amo" is fine.
