Katiya Karoon Meaning

Katiya Karoon tera roon (कतिया करूं तेरा रूं) means I will spin your cotton. Basically katiya here means to spin cotton (सूत कातना), and roon here is rooi, that is cotton.

Hence, the meaning of the line Katiya karun tera roon main saari raat katiya karoon is I'll spin your cotton whole night, suggesting she'd do anything for him the whole night.

    wow! I am able to figure out the deep meaning of this song.. Its only punjabi songs blend the pleasure & pain at the same time.. n what a smooth transition it goes thru at diff stages of the song.. just engrossing!!

    Well what rockstar said is right in literal meaning but there is deeper meaning to it....
    when we yarn cotton it creates thread of cotton which in turn weaves a cloth..here katiya refers to that early stage of love where we are submerged in love of another deeply forming a bond ( a thread ) and then weaving a relationship
    ( cloth ) out of it by katiya.

    Kateya Karoon is an old punjabi folk song- The women in olden times used to make cotton on the spinning feel and wait and sing waiting for their husbands or lovers..
    Following is the coorect meaning:

    After quite a while AR is back to something wonderful, though be it a folk that is not 100% of his, but still a wonderfully created masterpiece. A great composition by a great artist. A pure folk, pure joy.

    thanks to MR Kamil the lyricist of rockstar who has found pearls of sufism by diving deep in sufi literature. he has selected hazrat amir khusro and bulley shah also some others whom i do not know but fantastic collection of sufi poetry are songs of rockstar. i don't know why the director of this film didn't tried to give message that what is the power of sufi love. i believe the director music director and lyricist are blesses by great sufi saints that is why they were able to nurture this masterpiece rockstar. Really the star in lyrics and music but lost in conveying sufi love. this was the great opportunity to convey todays youth the message of sufi love still i believe it is wonderful beginning hope in next film director imtiaz ali will find out the way to explain sufism. why dilip kumar turned A R Rahman. there must be great power of sufism which transformed dilipkumar to change religion and join kadri sect of islaam. May Hazrat Nizammuddin auliya inspire imitiaz ali to make another masterpiece to bow down new generation towards sufism.
