Satyanveshi is Rituparno Ghosh's last film and is to be released after his death. The film is based on Byomkesh Bakshi who was a detective and used to call him Satyanveshi/ Satyanbeshi.
The word is made up of Sanskrit [and Bangla] words Satya, that is Truth, and Anveshan, which means investigation, search, discovery. Hence, Satyanveshi would be someone who searches for the truth, or discovers the Truth, or in short, Truth-seeker, as the character Byomkesh Bakshi calls himself.

Guide to the Trailer of Besharam
Abhinav Singh Kashyap, having created Dabangg, is here with his second film, with an outrageous name, Besharam. The trailer is out, and here we are with the funny trailer, and the nuances of it.
The trailer begins with Ranbir singing in 'Sarson de Khet' that is Mustard fields, a Yashraj favorite. To clarify the Yashraj connection, the song is none other than Tujhe Dekha to ye jaana sanam, Pyaar hota hai deewana sanam, in a Punjabified avatar, with the first two words of both lines translated to Punjabi.
Tainu vekhya to ye jaana sanam
Pyaar honda ae Deewana sanam..
The introduction of Babli, the hero says Badmaash, i.e. rogue, Awara i.e. vagrant, Robdaar, that is overbearing, which is almost exactly the same as dabangg in its meaning, and lastly hoshiyaar, that is intelligent.
The first dialog from Babli is 'Mere seene mein dil nahi dost, Jigar hai jigar. Aur wo kabhi toot-ta nahi. naanv aega Babli.' that is, 'In my chest there is no heart, it's Jigar there. And it never breaks. And the name is Babli.'

Satyaagraha/ Satyagraha Meaning [सत्याग्रह]
Satyaagraha or Satyagraha was a term coined by Mahatma Gandhi for his unique way of fighting against injustice without being violent. As such the meaning of the word doesn't mention non-violence, still the term is used for non-violent methods of protesting.
Literally, Satyagraha is made of Satya and Aagraha, the former meaning Truth and the latter meaning Request. So the meaning is literally 'Request for Truth'. The aagraha here is also used as insistence, though usually it's not used to that effect, and hence Satyagraha is called Insistence for Truth.
Either way, the word is not just limited to request or insistence for Truth alone, but is used as a way of protesting against any injustice in an active but non-violent way.

Attarintiki Daaredhi/ Attharintiki Dhaaredhi Meaning
Attharintiki Dhaaredhi? means "how am I to my mother in law's home?" or in other words "what's the way to my mother in law's home"?
If we look at word for word translation, Attha means mother in law, Illu means house, and hence, Attha+gaari+intiki=attharintiki.
Gaaru is used to show respect here.
When we add conjunctions to the above words, the word becomes attharintiki.
Dhaari means way. Yedhi means 'where' actually, but with the English usage, it'll be translated as What. [Where's the way = What's the way]
And hence, Dhaaredhi means "what's the way?" [Dhaari+yedhi=Dhaaredhi]
And so, it's What's the way to my Mother-in-law's home.

Enne Unne Meaning
Enne Unne is in the eastern Uttar Pradesh dialect of Hindi, which means 'here and there'.
As in, the lyrics, enne unne ho gaya sab enne unne re, would mean everything has gone here and there, everything has gone here and there. That is, everything has become chaotic, it's all chaos now.

Naagin Dance/ Nagin Dance Meaning
Naagin dance, literally dance of a female snake, is a dance based on a snake's movements as made by them while 'listening' to a been or pungi, an Indian music instrument, which is famous for this snake dance only.
Apparently, this is said that snakes can't hear this music [though they actually hear vibrations, just can't hear the music as we hear it, they listen mostly through their bellies and it sounds mostly mumbled to them, not a topic for here] and they look at the been and dance follow its end. However, I haven't personally seen them dance like that, except in movies.
Anyway, this particular dance has been famous in Indian snake-movies, where the snake woman used to perform this dance in snake as well as human form. And that dance, along with that part of music is famous have become famous as Nagin dance and its music.

O Meri Mata (Bajatey Raho) Lyrics Translation
O Meri Maata is a Bhajan, a devotion song, which is a based on the music of Tu Mera Hero from film Desi Boys. As such it's common in India to make bhajans on the music of film songs and almost all popular songs have bhajans made on their music. However, this is rarely seen in movies. After Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge, this is second such incident. It's sung by Jawahar Dildar.
Jai kaara sheraa waali da
Bol saanche darbaar ki... 'Jai'
Jai ho..
Hail The One on the Lion
[Goddess Durga sits on a lion, and hence is called Sheraa waali, the one with a Lion]
Hail the true court..
Hail..
Hum maiyyaa ke super fan
Red chunariyaa kaale nain
From AM to PM
Sevaa karenge any time
We're the super fans of Mother,
(with) Red scarf, and black eyes,
From AM to PM,
We'll serve any time..

Honey Singh's Lungi Dance: Lyrics and Translation
Lungi Dance is a latest single by Honey Singh and seems he's readily took it out after the rumor that he'd be rapping with SPB for Chennai Express and Shekhar's [of Vishal-Shekhar] denial on the same. As such the single is supposed to be 'A tribute to Rajnikant Ji', some of the lines may even be offensive to South Indians, like Coconut in Lassi, probably not intentionally though. Anyway, here is a translation of the lyrics of the song.
Eer lungi, King Khan
Yo yo honey singh
Moochhon ko thoda round ghumaa ke
Annaa ke jaisaa chashmaa lagaa ke
Coconut mein lassi milaa ke
Aa jao saare mood bana ke..
Turning the mustaches a little round (on corners)
putting on a pair of shades like Anna
[Many senior South Indian stars are called Anna as the word is used to address elder brother in Tamil and most other South Indian languages too.]
Mixing coconut in Lassi,
Come all, in a good mood..
Eer lungi, King Khan
Yo yo honey singh
Moochhon ko thoda round ghumaa ke
Annaa ke jaisaa chashmaa lagaa ke
Coconut mein lassi milaa ke

Nishabd Meaning
Nishabd is a Hindi word which means wordless, i.e. silent, quiet.
Nishabd was the title of a 2007 movie starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jiah Khan.
Even though Nishabd reverse-transliterates to निशब्द, the word is actually written in Hindi as नि:शब्द. However, since there is no way to write a visarga in English (though it looks exactly like a colon), the title of the movie was Nishabd.

Ye Tune Kya Kiya Lyrics Translation [OUATIMD]
Movie: Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara
Music: Pritam
Lyrics: Rajat Aroraa
Singer: Javed Bashir
Ishq wo balaa hai
Jisko chhua isne wo jalaa hai
Dil se hota hai shuru
Par kambakht sar pe chadhaa hai
Kabhi Khud se, Kabhi Khudaa se Kabhi zamaane se ladaa hai
Itna hua badnaam phir bhi Har zubaan pe adaa hai
Love is that problem, Who ever dealt with it, got their hands burnt.
It begins in the heart But it soon ends up getting over your head.
It sometimes fights yourself, sometimes with god,
And sometimes with the entire world..
Though it acquired such a bad name over years, it's still stuck on everyone's tongue..

Zeher teraa mujh mein utraa
You're the wish,
You're the danger too,
Your poison's descended into me..
Badaa shor uthaa hai kaanon mein
Mehfil mein aur maikhaanon mein
Teraa nashaa ghol kar daalaa hai
Maine dil mein aur paimanon mein..

Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobara: Music Review [Pritam]
Once Upon A Slash Ay Time in Mumbai Slash Mumbaai Again Slash Dobaara is a short album with a long and highly confused name. If you see the official trailer, Wikipedia page, and posters of the movie you will find all the spellings mentioned in the beginning. Last time Kapoors had issues spelling Mumbai and they made it Mumbaai. But this time the limits are crossed, as they decide respell 'A'. Maybe someday Ekta Kapoor will teach her kids Ay for Aypple too.
Anyway, the album has four songs, and 25% of them are old.
The first song of the album is Ye Tune Kya Kiya, a Qawwali styled track sung by Javed Bashir in a voice which makes me feel that the singer has a long grey beard. But that doesn't make the song go bad in any way. It's a beautiful track with lot of Indian arrangements including Tabla and harmonium, and some deliberate memories of tum jo aaye from the prequel. However, it's a completely contrasting background track in the beginning of the song, starting around 38th second that surprises you the most. The nuances like the very real sounding echo in the beginning poetry tell you how much effort was put into the song.

Chugli/ Chugliyaan Meaning
Chugli or Chughli is an Urdu/ Hindi word which is used for the action of complaining about someone, to spoil the person's image and mostly when they're expected to remain quite.
Chugliyaan or Chughliyaan is plural for the word, hence meaning complaints.
Chugliyaan or Chughliyaan is plural for the word, hence meaning complaints.
Positive and Negative: Translating Bollywood Songs
Translating Bollywood songs is a tough thing. To be more general, translating any kind of poetry is a tough thing. But when it comes to poetry (or lyrics) that millions of people already have etched in their memories, it becomes even tougher.
I have been translating Hindi songs to English for more than three years now. And while I get a lot of appreciation from almost all those who cannot understand those songs (whether they know Hindi or not), it's a common complaint that the translations get very literal, and the beauty of poetry is lost.
Well, that's what is called 'Lost in Translation.'
When I translate a song, the thing I worry the most about is not the 'beauty' of the song, but the meaning of words and sentences, and at the same time the essence of the song. I know many times the translations look funny, but that is natural when you try to put the idioms, phrases and poetry of one language in another where not just the language but the culture is entirely different.
Also, when one reads the translation of lyrics with the purpose of understanding the original lyrics, one cannot expect me to write poetry myself, because the purpose here isn't to be poetic, but to be explanatory.
What people don't seem to notice today, on the other hand, is the hopeless lyrics that are put into songs these days, something that used to happen earlier as well, but with less frequency, I believe. However, when the same song is translated, the hopeless lyrics make hopeless translations and while people were busy listening to the music of the actual song, it gets noticed in the translation.
I remember, one of the popular songs last year was chikni kamar pe teri mera dil phisal gaya, strongly ye jaadu tera mujh pe chal gaya, which didn't take me even ten minutes to translate, because there was no poetry in the song.
In the same year, I tried a translation of O Ri Duniya by Piyush Mishra, and it took me more than an hour and a half to do that.
For both the songs, translations are available most probably on BollyMeaning alone, and it's sad to see that Chikni kamar has more than triple the number of hits compared to O ri Duniya. However, one stat to consider is that O ri duniya is three year old now, so it's probably not that bad either.
It's good to see that there are more people trying to write translations of songs today, but most of them still lack a depth. For example, I read a translation recently where 'khoya khoya chaand, khula aasmaan' was translated to 'the lost lost moon, the wide open sky'. Leave that bad a translation, but still, most would translate it to 'the moon is lost', which would give you an idea of the thing, but still a non-native would not understand the significance of 'khoya khoya' as compared to just 'khoya'. That's something that comes after some serious thought is put into translation, and mostly requires some experience. [incidentally, the song is not translated on BollyMeaning till writing of this post.]
Either way, personally, the good thing about BollyMeaning is that I get to explore a lot of good music in some real depth. While I may waste ten minute intervals translating things like 'Strongly ye jaadu' for people, those same people make sure I don't miss a single good song. Plus, many times there are lines which we just hear, like, and repeat, without giving them much thought. With translations at hand, that simply doesn't happen. I get to, have to, go deep into every single line and that is a pleasure you don't always find by just listening to the songs casually.
As they say, jin dhoondha tin paayiyaan, gehre paani paith. That is, the one who goes into deep waters to search, finds. And I find some really good meanings of lyrics, poetry and life with BollyMeaning.

Na Udne ki is Dafa Thaani, Parindon ne bhi Wafa Jaani: The meaning I Took
I'm not sure how mesmerized you are listening to the beautiful lyrics in Lootera, but I'm quite so, and not without reason. Especially after I saw the movie, the words seemed to make even more sense. Completely loved the words of Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Anyway, there were two lines in the song Shikaayatein Mitaane Lagi, that I was not sure of whether people would understand or not. At least not the way I understood them. The lines were:
naa udne ki iss dafaa thaani,
parindon ne bhi wafaa jaani..
That is,
They decided not to fly this time,
Even the birds understood (the need, or say importance of) faithfulness this time..
Leaving aside the context of the lines in the movie, how do you interpret them individually in the song. I don't know how others interpreted it, but to me this seemed to come straight from a poem by Shri Maithili Sharan Gupta that I read as a child.
There, when a fire breaks out in a tree, the birds in the tree are asked:
आग लगी इस वृक्ष में, जलते इसके पात,
तुम क्यों जलते पक्षियों, जब पंख तुम्हारे पास?
i.e.,
There is a fire in this tree, it's leaves are burning,
Why do you burn O birds, when you have wings with you?
And the birds reply:
फल खाये इस वृक्ष के, गंदे कीने पात,
यही हमारा धर्म है, हम जलें इसी के साथ.
i.e.,
We ate the fruits of this tree, and dirtied its leaves with our excreta,
Now this is our duty, that we burn with it..
So this was the feeling of patriotism that I believe has been the source of inspiration for Amitabh's words in the song, though, the sense of duty and responsibility here doesn't go exactly as patriotism as per the movie. For confirmation though, he's not available here. Amitabh ji, if you're reading this post somewhere, a comment would be helpful to us.

Sawaar/ Sanwaar Loon Lyrics Translation (Lootera)
Sanwaar Loon is one of the best songs of Lootera. However, the song has been sung AND spelled as Sawaar loon, which really doesn't mean what it should and hence is irritating in a way. However, the song is beautiful other than this issue, and Amit Trivedi's music as well as Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics are wonderful. Here is a translation for the song. For more detail on the difference of Sanwaar Loon and Sawaar Loon, check THIS POST.
hawaa ke jhonke aaj mausamon se rooth gaye
gulon ki shokhiyaan jo bhanwre aa ke loot gaye
badal rahi hai aaj Zindagi ki chaal Zaraa
isee bahaane main bhi kyoon naa dil ka haal Zaraa
sanwaar loon haye sanwaar loon
Gusts of wind got upset with the weather today..
As the bumblebees looted the brilliance of flowers
today the way of life has changed little bit
Taking that as an excuse, why I too not make my heart feel better,
Why shouldn't I too pamper my heart..
hawaa ke jhonke aaj mausamon se rooth gaye
gulon ki shokhiyaan jo bhanwre aa ke loot gaye
badal rahi hai aaj Zindagi ki chaal Zaraa
isee bahaane main bhi kyoon naa dil ka haal Zaraa

Aman ki Aasha/ Aman ki Asha Meaning
Aman ki Aasha or Aman ki Asha is Urdu/ Hindi for 'Hope of Peace'. Interestingly, in the phrase, Aman is a common Urdu word while Aasha is Hindi. The phrase could be entirely in Urdu, as Aman ki Ummeed, or in Hindi, as Shanti ki Aasha. But the makers decided to call it Aman ki Aasha instead, keeping languages from both India and Pakistan, and also maintaining alliteration.
Dobara/ Dobaara Meaning
Dobaara is nothing but Hindi/ Urdu for 'again', or 'once again'.
Hence, the names Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara, and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Again, are the same thing, though it appears that the makers of the movie are using the names interchangeably.

Solah Baras ki Bali Umar Ko Salam: Lyrics Translation [Sixteen]
Movie: Sixteen
Music: Gaurav Dagaonkar
Lyrics: Shivranjani Singh
Singer: Shalmali Kholgade, with Shivranjani Singh
Samay se pehle kaee jhamelay
Bhole-bhaale man huye mailay
Life tujhay jo denaa chaahay
Pehle aise hi tu chheen ke le lay
Kaam ka jo naa ho, kar le ab tu har wo kaam
Solah baras ki baali umar ko salaam
Solah baras ki saali umar ko salaam..
A hundred problems before their time,
Innocent hearts have become dirty..
Whatever life wants to give you,
You already snatch from it in advance..
Now do everything that is not for you to do..
Salute to the innocent age of sixteen..
Salute to the mean age of sixteen..
Chaskaa hai ye jaise charas kaa
Life mein high ki badhtee taras kaa
Umra khaalee solah, phir bhi hai sholaa
Maan lo jaise saalaa hai sau baras kaa
Naam rakh ke daam pe banaa le apnaa naam
It's like an addiction of hashish..
Of increasing craving of a high in life..
Age is just sixteen, still it's a fireball..
As if it's of hundred years..
It makes its name by deciding the price from name itself..

Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya
Singers: Arijit Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Neeti Mohan
Chipak-chipak kay chaltee hain kabhi-kabhi do raahein
Jude-jude kuchh aise ki lagaa ho jaise gum
Double-double hotee thi jo kabhi-kabhi takleefein
Kisi ke sang mein chalne say hui half se kam
Teraa meraa meraa teraa, tera mera mera tera kissaa atrangee
Kabhi-kabhi chaltee hai kabhi-kabhi ruktee kahaani bedhangee
Sometimes, two paths go sticking to each other, [in parallel]
Sticking as if there is gum between them,
Sometimes when the troubles used to be double,
They have become less than half [as troubling] with someone walking together..
Yours n mine, mine n yours, our story is colorful..
Sometimes it goes, and sometimes stops, our strange story..

Aflatoon Meaning
Aflatoon today is a word that is used for an eccentric, sometimes even a mad person.
As such, the word is a distorted form of Plato, which cannot be spoken in Arabic due to absence of 'P' sound and ended up becoming Aflatoon, and was picked up in Urdu and subsequently by some Hindi speakers, also because of the interesting sound the word makes.
As for the meaning, it probably comes from the questioning, curious nature of Plato, which is considered strange by common people.

Zara Chhoone De: Acer Ad Jingle [Lucky Ali] Lyrics Translation
Windows 8 has been high on music for past some time. First it was I wanna be, then Sona's Kyun darta hai tu yaar, and now it's Lucky Ali, who sings for an ad jingle in long long time. This ad is for Acer, and has to be for their touch series. That you can see from the lyrics. Here are the lyrics along with the translation, and a soundcloud link posted by the singer himself.
Kachcha pakka ehsaas ho chhoone se
Khaamoshi bhi bol uthe chhoone se.
khwaahishen angdaayi lein chhoone se.
manzilen ho aasaan chhoone se

Ready Steady Po Meaning
Did you Mean: Ready Steady Go
Well, that's what Google used to say until a few days ago. Before that, it used to straight away send you to the meaning of Ready Steady Go, thinking you typed a letter wrong.
And of course, Google is never wrong. ;) Yes, Po is Tamil for 'Go', and hence, Ready Steady Po means nothing other than Ready, Steady, Go. That is the reason Rohit Shetty has made it the catch-phrase of his movie, as the bike, that is, Chennai Express, will be run saying 'Ready Steady Po'.
Want an added meaning? Po-da is one of the most common phrases in Tamil, where da doesn't really mean anything, and the phrase would translate to something of the sort as 'Hey go man!'

Taabeer/ Tabeer Meaning
Taabeer or Tabeer is an Urdu word which is kind of unique with no exact translation in Hindi or English. Tabeer means the interpretation or meaning of a dream.
The word especially comes into picture because many cultures and/or people believe that dreams have meanings and hence they try to interpret them, and find their meaning. Hence the need for the word.
In fact in Indian subcontinent, this is a belief among some that the dreams dreamed during the morning hours turn out to be true. Though that's more of a saying than a belief.
Shafqat Amanat Ali's debut album was also called Tabeer. It came out in 2008.
