Khamma ghani is a Rajasthani phrase which means hello, or you can say welcome. The song here is about feeling guilty having taken wrong steps, when in love.
Buri baat hai ye manmaaniyaan
Hui jaan kar jo naadaaniyaan
Gunahgaar ki tarah kyun khada
Abhi maangta meherbaniyaan
Kare kya kare nahi jaanta
Ghalat mod jo muda raasta
Teri chaah mein hua dil mera saza yafta
It's a bad thing to do whatever (bad things) I wish to do.
Now having known the mistakes that you have made,
Why are you standing like a guilty one,
asking for mercy now..
he does not know what should be done,
now that you have turned the wrong way.
in your love my heart has become convicted.
Khamma ghani aao re mhaaro saaiyaan
Khamma ghani sajan bairiya
welcome O my Lord,
welcome O my beloved.
[bairiya literally means enemy but here it's used for a beloved because he's troubling her with his memories etc.]
Ye dil mera, hai saza yafta..
This heart of mine is convicted...
Khamma ghani aao re mhaaro saaiyaan
Khamma ghani sajan bairiya
Lafz tera saancha maana
Daag mujh mein hai jaana
Bhar rahaa hoon harjaana kaise batlaaun
Gar jo teri manzoori hai
To gavaara ye doori hai
I considered your word true always,
And (whenever there was a conflict) I thought of myself as the one mistaken,
How do I tell you what fine I'm paying for that now.
If this is what you wish,
I'll bear with this distance (from you)...
Main to samjhaa par dil ko kaise samjhaaun
Unhein dard kaho ya dava
Jinhe yaad main karoon sau dafaa
Sunehare unhi dinon se bata
PaDa hai tera kabhi wasta
I am pacified myself, but how do I make my heart understand..
Should I call the one a pain or a cure,
The one I remember a hundred times.
Have you ever dealt with those
Golden days again?
Kare kya kare nahi jaanta
Ghalat mod jo muda raasta
Teri chaah me hua dil mera saza yafta
Khamma ghani aao re mhaaro saaiyaan
Khamma ghani sajan bairiya
Ye dil mera, hai saza yafta..
Sajan bairiya re
Sajan bairiya.. Sajan bairiya re
Sajan bairiya..

I feel the origin came from Khamma (kshema in sanskrit, khem cho in Gujarati, etc) and Ghani means large or great. Thus khamma ghani simply means great health or equivalent
