Movie: Dhadak (2018)

Marathi film Sairat's Hindi remake Dhadak brings us the same set of musicians as the original film, that is Ajay-Atul. While Sairat had some lovely songs, especially the title track Sairat Zala Ji and Jhingat/Zingat, Dhadak has a new title track, and it's quite lovely too.
Ajay-Atul once again bring in Shreya Ghoshal, as Ajay sings this one with Shreya, the last lines trying to create the same effect they did in Singham's Badmaash dil.
marhami sa chaand hai tu
diljala sa main andhera
ek dooje ke liye hain
neend meri khwaab tera
you are a balmy moon,
and I'm some heart-burned darkness.
my sleep and your dreams
are there for each other.
tu ghaTa hai phuhaar ki
main ghaRi intezaar ki
apna milna likha
isi baras hai na...
you are a cloud about to rain,
and I'm a moment of waiting.
it's written in our fate to meet
this year only, right?
jo meri manzilon ko jaati hai
tere naam ki koyi saRak hai na
jo mere dil ko dil banaati hai
tere naam ki koyi dhaRak hai na
the one that goes to my destinations,
there is such a road of your name, right?
the one that makes my heart what it is,
there is some heartbeat of your name (in my heart), right?
koyi baandhni joRa oRh ke
baabul ki gali aaun chhoR ke
tere hi liye laaungi piyaa
solah saal ke saawan joR ke
wearing a traditional colorful dress,
I'll come to you, leaving my father's house.
For you only, I'll bring with me, O my beloved,
a collection of sixteen seasons of rain.
[Sixteen seasons of rain is a poetic way to say that the heroine is so-called 'sweet sixteen'. Interestingly, solah saal ke saawan gives has the same alliteration effect that is there in sweet sixteen. Also, despite the cliche on the years, the line seems quite lovely.]
pyaar se thaamna, Dor baareek hai
saat janmon ki ye pehli tareekh hai
hold it with care, this thread is thin.
It's the first day of the seven lives (I'm going to be with you for).
Dor ka ek main sira
aur tera hai doosra
juR sakein beech mein kayi taRap hai na
I'm one end of the thread,
and the other is yours.
There can be a lot of longing in between, right?
jo meri manzilon ko jaati hai
tere naam ki koyi saRak hai na
jo mere dil ko dil banaati hai
tere naam ki koyi dhaRak hai na
Mind blowing lyrics...music...song...well done!
